Historically, these snakes have been called  Boiginae rear-fanged snakes, because their bites occasionally leds to envenomation.
A genus named "cat eyed snakes" (Boiga) is
one of the best known genera and even name giver.
Furthermore, the Boomslang  (Dispholidus typus) is one
of the most dangerous species.
The following pages are dedicated to opistoglyphous and aglyphous snakes. This  terms refer to the location of the fangs in the rear positon of mouth.
On this website I will share my experiences with the biology, toxicology and captive-care.

These pages have been designed with care.
Nevertheless, new scientific insights can lead to taxonomic changes.
I'am trying to update this website continuously and thus, to keep information about genera and species given in this website up-to-date and corresponding to the latest taxonomic findings, respectively.

Of course, no responsibility is taken for the correctness of information regarding the toxicology and the capitve-care of the snakes.

Should you have pictures of rare species or habitat shots, it would be great if you could pass them to me.
